This visa is designed for children who are dependent on an Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent visa holder.

SUBCLASS 445
The Dependent Child Visa (Subclass 445) allows a child to move to or stay in Australia until a decision is made on their parent’s permanent Partner visa application. The child can travel to and from Australia, work, and study. Once granted, the child must apply to be added to their parent’s permanent Partner visa application. They can also enroll in Australia’s public healthcare scheme, Medicare.
SUBCLASS 117
The Orphan Relative Visa (Subclass 117) allows a child to stay in Australia indefinitely. It grants the child the right to work and study in Australia, enroll in Medicare (Australia’s public healthcare scheme), sponsor relatives to come to Australia, and apply for Australian citizenship if eligible.
