The Remaining Relative Visa (Subclass 835) is designed for individuals who have close family ties with Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens. SUBCLASS 870
This temporary visa allows a parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to visit Australia for up to 3 or 5 years. It does not lead to permanent residence and has specific conditions.
SUBCLASS 884
The Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 884) allows you to live in Australia for up to 2 years. You can work and study in Australia, but you will not receive government support. This visa serves as a pathway to apply for a permanent Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 864). By first applying for the Subclass 884 visa and then the Subclass 864 visa, you can spread the cost of the visas over several years.
SUBCLASS 864
The Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 864) allows eligible parents to live in Australia indefinitely, work and study, access healthcare, sponsor relatives, and apply for Australian citizenship if eligible. This visa is typically obtained in two steps, starting with the Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 884). The visa grants a 5-year travel facility, and after the initial period, travellers need to apply for a Resident Return Visa or consider Australian citizenship for re-entry.
SUBCLASS 173
The Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 173) allows parents to live in Australia for up to 2 years, work and study, enroll in Medicare, and apply for a permanent Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143). The visa can be obtained in two steps, starting with the temporary Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 173), followed by the permanent Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143).
