EMC Australia / Subclass 600
A genuine short stay — holiday, family or short business.
The officer has to be satisfied you will leave (the Genuine Visitor test). Ties to home, purpose, funds and immigration history matter more than a booked hotel. Streams (tourist, sponsored family, business visitor) are still the same visa, with different rules. Working on a 600 is a breach.

- Some visas limit how much time you can spend in Australia in a period (for example condition 8558).
- A parent who needs years here wants 870 or a parent PR visa, not endless 600s.
