EMC Australia / Subclass 403 / 408
Special programs and activities — not ordinary skilled work.
Subclass 403 covers programs such as the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme and the Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-professionals Scheme (MATES). Subclass 408 covers activities such as sport, research, religious work and some events. The stream on the form is what matters. If the job is ordinary skilled work, this is usually the wrong visa. Ministerial Directions 121 and 122 (skilled-visa processing priorities) do not apply to these subclasses.
