Western Australia skilled visa nomination for 190 and 491
Western Australia nominates skilled people for the permanent Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) and the regional Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491).
Is Western Australia nomination open right now?
Western Australia issues invitations from SkillSelect. Check the official Migration WA site for the current round dates, occupation lists and any new program settings. An invitation is never guaranteed.
What visas can Western Australia nominate?
- Subclass 190 — permanent residence. Some pathways need a job offer or contract in WA.
- Subclass 491 — five-year provisional regional visa.
You still need at least 65 points on the federal points test.
How does Western Australia select people?
Western Australia ranks eligible Expressions of Interest using factors such as location (living in WA, interstate or overseas), occupation priority, qualifications, points and the date the EOI was lodged. There is no single published pass mark.
What do I need to do?
- Confirm your occupation is on the current Western Australia occupation list for the stream you want.
- Have a valid skills assessment and an accurate SkillSelect EOI that selects Western Australia.
- Meet any job offer, contract or study requirements for your pathway.
- If invited, complete the state nomination application within the time given.
