Tasmania skilled visa nomination for 190 and 491

Tasmania nominates skilled people for the permanent Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) and the regional Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491).

Is Tasmania nomination open right now?

Tasmania has been running its current program and issuing invitations. Check the official Migration Tasmania site for the latest round dates, occupation settings and any changes to eligibility. An invitation is never guaranteed.

What visas can Tasmania nominate?

  • Subclass 190 — permanent residence.
  • Subclass 491 — five-year provisional regional visa.

You still need at least 65 points on the federal points test.

How does Tasmania select people?

Tasmania ranks Registrations of Interest using its own published criteria. Higher scores are invited in each round. There is no fixed national pass mark — ranking is relative to other applicants in the pool at the time.

What do I need to do?

  1. Confirm your occupation and pathway are open on the current Tasmania list.
  2. Have a valid skills assessment and an accurate SkillSelect EOI.
  3. Submit a Registration of Interest when the program is open.
  4. If invited, apply for nomination and then lodge the visa with the Department.
