ACT skilled visa nomination for 190 and 491
The Australian Capital Territory nominates skilled people for the permanent Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) and the regional Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491).
Is ACT nomination open right now?
The ACT nominates by invitation from its Canberra Matrix. Check the official ACT Government skilled migration pages for the current invitation rounds and matrix settings. An invitation is never guaranteed.
What visas can the ACT nominate?
- Subclass 190 — permanent residence.
- Subclass 491 — five-year provisional regional visa.
You still need at least 65 points on the federal points test.
How does the ACT select people?
The ACT uses the Canberra Matrix to rank applicants. Higher matrix scores are invited in each round. There is no single published pass mark — ranking is relative to other applicants in the pool.
What do I need to do?
- Confirm your occupation is eligible under the current ACT settings.
- Have a valid skills assessment and an accurate SkillSelect EOI.
- Complete the Canberra Matrix and meet any residence or work requirements.
- If invited, apply for nomination within the time given.
